if your in laws have confiscated your passport it is an illegal act amounting to theft of the said passport. You see normally courts award a sentence of 2 -3 years for theft. You can report the matter to the Police and lodge FIR.

i am 22 years old and am staying in Bangalore India i am a holder of a U.S. permanent resident card and dude to my father wanting to expand his business in India he did not let me get citizenship, i was sent to India by him and have lived alone for 4 years now, i quit the collage architecture course due to corruption, ragging and lack of professionalism from the teachers, my father did not sign the release papers that the collage required for me to be officially released, i was not legally fit to sign such papers however when i quit i let the director and the head of the department know i was quitting. I stopped accepting my fathers money and declared my financial independence from him, i was friends with my H.O.D. (head of department) who right when i was about to start working to gain my own money told me that he would provide it and that i should not worry about such things and study whatever i want so i did and self educated myself reading over 1000 books i am finding out now that i was lied to and the money i was given on a lone i promised to pay back with interest was my fathers money and now they are calming i am mentally unfit, claiming my H.O.D. as my guardian though i never gave him that title and to get off from paying my collage fees which he left pending have had the police arrest me and put me in a psychiatric clinic on false fact-less evidence where all my physical tests are fine and are trying to have me diagnosed for psychosis ( loosing touch with reality ) because i have not enough money to support myself because my decisions have been based on a lie told by my H.O.D.
I have also been told that the police have confiscated my passport, and contrary evidence that everything was a lie to get you to the hospital, i am now a committed patient not able to leave the hospital because of documents that had to consent from me, and not able to find out if the police really do have my passport because of not being able to leave the grounds and because the police are not allowed inside the hospital according to them, all the while my doctor is saying your passport is not my problem and meeting with my H.O.D. and my Father who may still have it and are keeping it from me. The doctor diagnosing me after talking to a physician in the same building seems to be false in his claim that i immediately be put on drugs i am not allowing them to verbally saying i did not sign any consent form, they are also not showing me any legal work other than the admittance form, they are not showing me the claims made about me from a my father who has been in india a total of 2 months in the last two years in which time i have not spent more than 20 days with him and my H.O.D. who i meed once a week, based on this evidence alone and some tests he says are valid he is making his diagnosis and also not contacting the U.S. for records on my father and his history of abuse and criminal activity

please help, i want to know what my rights are any what rights are being violated and how i can fight back i am 22 and these people have tricked me into spending my last 24,000 rs and though if i leave this place i can live with my friends do i have any legal obligation to my father and the collage and the H.O.D.?
i am being scammed and used by these corrupt people who are also remaining silent and not telling anything when i ask them to recall all the things they told me leading up to the arrest and how i was mislead about the money, i have threatened the doctor for malpractice but i dont know how much more i can do without proper information they keep me in a room for 23 and a half hours and talk to me for 20 to 30 minuets, dismiss my claims of the logic of my choices in life and then walk out saying that, “i dont know where i am going in life and the fact i dont have any money now is proof of it”

please help if this was the U.S. i could of defended myself but here they are not allowing me access to my rights

Exclamation Corruption and Confusion, Please help Hurry
    dear sir/mam

I am 22 years old and am staying in Bangalore India. I am a holder of a U.S. permanent resident card and due to my fathers wanting to expand his business in India he did not let me get citizenship, thought i have lived there for ever ten years. I was sent to India by him at eighteen and have lived alone for four years now. I quit the collage architecture course due to corruption, ragging, and lack of professionalism from the teachers. My father did not sign the release papers that the collage required for me to be officially released and i was not legally fit to sign such papers, however when i quit i let the director and the head of the department know i was quitting.

I stopped accepting my fathers money and declared my financial independence from him, i was friends with my H.O.D. (head of department) who right when i was about to start working to gain my own money told me that he would provide it and that i should not worry about such things and study whatever i want so i did. I self educated myself reading over 1000 books on ever subject of my interest.

I am finding out now that i was lied to. The money i was given on a lone (because i did not want to accept charity) i made a verbal agreement to pay back with interest to my H.O.D. turned out to be my fathers money. Now my H.O.D. and father are calming i am mentally unfit. My father is claiming my H.O.D. as my guardian though i never gave him that title and to get off from paying my collage fees which he left pending has had the police arrest me and put me in a psychiatric clinic on false fact-less evidence.

All my physical tests are fine and these two are trying to have me diagnosed for psychosis ( loosing touch with reality ) because i do not have enough money to support myself because my decisions have been based on a lie told by my H.O.D. I have also been told that the police have confiscated my passport by my H.O.D. and also contrary evidence by the physician that everything was a lie to get you to the clinic.

I am now a committed patient not able to leave the hospital because of documents that had no consent from me, and not able to find out if the police really do have my passport because of not being able to leave the grounds and because the police are not allowed inside the hospital according to a physician in the building. All the while my doctor is saying your passport is not my problem and meeting with my H.O.D. and my Father who may still have it and are keeping it from me, (a criminal offence of theft if i am not mistaken).

The doctor is diagnosing me very harshly and after talking to a physician in the same building, he seems to be false in his claim. He claims that i should immediately be put on drugs as strong as anti-psychotics. I am not allowing them to verbally stating to my defense that i did not sign any consent form.

They are also not showing me any legal work other than the admittance form signed by my father. They are not showing me the claims made about me from a my father (who has been in India a total of 2 months in the last four years in which time i have not spent more than 20 days with him) and my H.O.D. (who i meet once a week for an hour on average). Based on this evidence alone and one test he say is valid enough he is making his diagnosis and also not contacting the U.S. for records on my father and his history of abuse and criminal activity. He has no hard facts at all and puts me in a room for 23 hours i am served 3 meals a day and only recently regained my phone privileges (my H.O.D. canceled them because the phone was regestired under his name) and am using the internet through the charity of one of the staff who had a u.s.b. internet connection. This physical sees me about 20 to 30 munits at maximum and says i haven’t proven myself un-delusional and then walks out without even giving me the time to prove my facts.

Please help, i want to know what my rights are any what rights are being violated and how i can get a flight back to New York or at least my passport back.

I am 22 and these people have tricked me into spending my last 24,000 rs (500 dollars U.S.) and though if i leave this place i can live with my friends do i have any legal obligation to my father and the collage and the H.O.D.?

I am being scammed and used by these corrupt people who are also remaining silent and not telling anything when i ask them to recall all the things they told me leading up to the arrest and how i was mislead about the money.

I have threatened the doctor for malpractice but i dont know how much more i can do without proper information they keep me in a room for 23 and a half hours and talk to me for 20 to 30 minuets, dismiss my claims of my logic for my choices in life and then walk out saying that, “i dont know where i am going in life and the fact i don’t have any money is proof of it because cannot even support myself.”

Some Interesting Stats On Arrests Of Women

In 1930, the British govt arrested 17,000 women for their involvement in the Dandi Yatra (Salt March). During 1937 to 1947 (10 Years), they arrested 5,000 women involved in the freedom struggle. From 2004 to 2006, the govt of India arrested 90,000 women of all ages under 498A. On the average, 27,000 women per year are being arrested under this flawed law. These are stats from the NCRB.
