Sites On Hinduism

Here is the Hindu wiki.

Here is another link

There is a lot of interesting stuff here. I liked a couple of quotes so I decided to post them here:

  • For the 498A wives: “In the spring of your youth, in the morning of your days, when the eyes of men gaze on you with delight, and nature whispers in your ear the meaning of their looks; ah! hear with caution their seducing words; guard well your heart. Do not listen to their soft persuasions. Remember you are made man`s reasonable companion, not the slave of his passion. The end of your being is not merely to gratify his loose desire, but to assist him in the toils of life, to soothe him with your tenderness, and recompense his care with soft endearments.”
  • For the guys with the 498A wives: “There where righteousness is, there are glory and beauty. There where modesty is, there are prosperity and intelligence. There where righteousness is, there is Krishna; and there where Krishna is, there is victory.”

Do you know there is an exclusive wiki about Hinduism. Just like wikipedia but focussing only on hinduism and related topics. The entire wiki is developed by the community of Hindus. Perhaps this is one of the most important sites on Hindusm. Very good one. Have a look at it => http://www.hinduwiki.com

Awesome site HinduWiki.com – Good to know that there is a wiki out there focussing exclusivly about Hinduism. It seems almost all the puranic charectors are covered here. They seems to be focussing on Hindu Mythology at this point (from recent changes) but I hope it will expand to other area. Good site Ravi. Thanks.

Cops only job at an accident scene is to clog up traffic and write a summons to somebody. Might have to pin it to the stretcher but what the hell.

Hi! I could have sworn I’ve visited this site before but after
looking at some of the articles I realized it’s new to me.
Regardless, I’m certainly pleased I found it and I’ll be bookmarking it and checking back regularly!

Some Interesting Stats On Arrests Of Women

In 1930, the British govt arrested 17,000 women for their involvement in the Dandi Yatra (Salt March). During 1937 to 1947 (10 Years), they arrested 5,000 women involved in the freedom struggle. From 2004 to 2006, the govt of India arrested 90,000 women of all ages under 498A. On the average, 27,000 women per year are being arrested under this flawed law. These are stats from the NCRB.

The family of the writer was tortured by the Indian Police in an attempt to extort over a $100,000 by holding them in custody for over a week. The police, in cahoots with the magistrate and the PP, did this due to the ridiculous allegations made in a 498A case by his embittered ex-wife. She filed the case years after he and his family had last seen her. Thousands of 498A cases are filed each year in India by women seeking to wreak vengeance on their husbands and in-laws. Enormous sums are extorted from intimidated families implicated in these cases by corrupt Indian police officers and elements of the Indian judiciary.
