Its not good as people get enocourage as this is bailable as my husband did.He started beating and asking for dowry. As he knows its bailable and proving his act fact gonna be difficult and he can get escape easily after some time.He can find the ways as he has given the time I got married 22 april 2007,his act started from very second day of marraige and he got more enocouraged to do so 8 May2007 he started beating and asking money Its been a year I have gone through with so much mental and physical torture.
He got encouraged with this justice.IT should not be bailable to save a family so people who are greedy should have fear of law and order and should not get time to get escaped.

    Respected Sir,
i have been somehow trapped in a conspiracy where myself and my family have been shown illegal objections and inspite of my appeal at High Court of Kolkata where i have filed a case of murder and illegal harrassments and for that i have been also been present at Police Court for showing me as a witness of this fraud and i have submitted my allegations against how i have been trapped so that the one who is a suspect of this involvement can be punished or jailed.still my opposition who is a fraud and showing terms and conditions with the help of influentials of kolkata is still have been the causes of disturbances and domestic violences and also the reason why i have been still with my parents who are senior citizens after my divorce with my ex-husband with whom i was married in the year 2004 and we divorced on a mutual consent in the year 2005.as i am not agreeing to the arrangement of this marriage which is baseless and the reasons which is objectionable and incidents related to fraudulants and myself and my parents are cheated and have been trapped.frauds who are also responsible for premature deaths and mishaps which my family have been facing since year 1979 still not punished or jailed for whatever and however they are carrying on with their blackmailing, injustices and also sexual violences and related physical and mental tortures.so myself Rajita Roychoudhury and staying at the address of 192/1 Rash Behari Avenue,Kolkata-700029, is appealing to you so that i can get justice and acquire the Right of my second marriage with conjugal rights and also for a reason for which my elderly parents are worried about as i am unemployed and unmarried.
    RAJITA ROYCHOUDHURY.

Some Interesting Stats On Arrests Of Women

In 1930, the British govt arrested 17,000 women for their involvement in the Dandi Yatra (Salt March). During 1937 to 1947 (10 Years), they arrested 5,000 women involved in the freedom struggle. From 2004 to 2006, the govt of India arrested 90,000 women of all ages under 498A. On the average, 27,000 women per year are being arrested under this flawed law. These are stats from the NCRB.

The family of the writer was tortured by the Indian Police in an attempt to extort over a $100,000 by holding them in custody for over a week. The police, in cahoots with the magistrate and the PP, did this due to the ridiculous allegations made in a 498A case by his embittered ex-wife. She filed the case years after he and his family had last seen her. Thousands of 498A cases are filed each year in India by women seeking to wreak vengeance on their husbands and in-laws. Enormous sums are extorted from intimidated families implicated in these cases by corrupt Indian police officers and elements of the Indian judiciary. The author and his family haven't bribed any public official nor have they given in to the extortion. This blog aims to raise awareness of due process in India.
